Prep Simulator for TOEFL by HomiLabs · Effective 4 November 2026
Prep Simulator for TOEFL keeps your test attempts, written answers, voice recordings and practice records on your device. It has no accounts and we receive no data about you. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID; you can manage that choice in your Android settings.
Who we are
Prep Simulator for TOEFL is published by HomiLabs. Contact: homilabs.smc@gmail.com.
What the app stores on your device
- Your mock test attempts: the answers you chose, marks, time left, your emails and discussion posts, your ratings and scores.
- Voice recordings of your Speaking answers (see below).
- Your practice results by topic.
- Vocabulary words you mark as known.
This information is saved in the app's private storage on your phone or tablet. Other apps cannot read it. It is never sent to us.
Microphone and voice recordings
The Speaking tasks ask for microphone permission. The app records only while a Speaking answer is being timed, shown by a red microphone and a countdown, and saves each answer as an audio file in the app's private storage so you can play it back and rate it. Recordings are never uploaded, sent to us or shared with anyone, and no speech recognition service is used. You can refuse or withdraw the permission in Android settings; the rest of the app keeps working. Recordings are deleted when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
Text-to-speech
Listening recordings and speaking prompts are read aloud by your phone's own text-to-speech engine (for example Speech Services by Google). The app sends that engine only the practice text to be spoken; it sends nothing about you. How your text-to-speech engine works is governed by its provider's terms.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob: a banner on the home screens, and occasionally a full-screen ad after you leave a results screen or finish a practice set. No ads are shown during a mock test, a practice question or while you review answers.
- To show and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, app and device information, and ad interactions.
- Where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the app asks for your consent before ads load. On Android you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in Settings, then Privacy (or Google), then Ads.
- Your answers, recordings and scores are never sent to Google or anyone else.
- How Google handles this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and in Google's Privacy Policy.
What we do not do
- No account, sign-in, name, email address, phone number or precise location is collected by us.
- We run no analytics or crash-reporting service of our own.
- We do not sell personal data, and we receive none: ad data goes to Google, not to HomiLabs.
Children
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Deleting your data
Everything is stored only on your device. To remove it, uninstall the app, or open your phone's Settings, then Apps, then Prep Simulator for TOEFL, then Storage, and choose Clear storage. We hold no copy of your attempts. Data held by Google for advertising can be managed in your Google account's ad settings.
Backups by your device
Android may include app data in your own device backup. That is controlled by your device settings and your Google account, not by HomiLabs.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
